Summary

The Gt Yarmouth Carnival is back for it’s tenth year and needs help with guiding parade through the town and marshalling the grand finale in St Georges Park.

Detailed description

The Great Yarmouth Carnival Parade is back for it’s tenth year! This established and well-organised machine needs helpers to marshal both the parade and the grand finale the in St. Georges Park, where there will be food and drink and many of the carnival’s participants will perform and display their costumes in the arena.

You can help out at either the parade, in the park or both! Setting up starts at 9am, the carnival leaves at 12 noon and it is estimated to finish at 2pm.

You'll be helping with:

  • Distributing the costumes to the allocated area for each group
  • Helping with the line up to ensure the parade moves smoothly
  • Walking alongside the parade and raise any issues on the route

Each helper will have a steward pack with details of route, emergency procedures and contacts. In the park, those helping with the finale will help with:

  • Setting up the arena, erecting gazebos, and general assistance
  • Ushering the groups to gather around the arena and help each group to enter the arena to showcase their costumes/perform etc
  • Organising each group for a group photo
  • Encouraging the public and parade participants to visit the various information stalls

This is a lovely community and family event. You'll be helping to make memories, meeting people from across the community and having some fun yourself!
