Crisis Pool
What is the Crisis Pool?
During times of urgent community need — such as extreme weather, public health situations, or other local emergencies — we may need to contact volunteers at short notice to help support Norfolk communities.
By joining our Crisis Response Volunteer Pool, you’re letting us know that:
- You’re happy to be contacted quickly if something urgent arises
- You may be available to step in and help when it’s most needed
- You understand that requests may be time-sensitive.
There is no obligation to say yes to any request — it simply means you’re open to being asked. The requests may come in from local authority, Red cross and other support organisations. We do not share your details to these organisations.
Keeping our list up to date
To make sure we can respond effectively, we regularly review this list and may contact you to check whether you’d still like to remain in the pool. Keeping your preferences up to date helps us make sure we’re reaching the right people at the right time.
You’re always in control
You can opt out at any time by updating your profile settings or letting us know directly. There’s no commitment, and you can rejoin whenever you like.
Training
For some roles, training may be required. Training for roles is undertaken by the organisations who request the support. You can keep a record of training you complete or have already completed on your Get InVOLved profile.
