Could you support your local NHS service? We are looking for volunteers to support people being discharged from hospital to help the NHS.

Individuals who would otherwise be too vulnerable to be discharged from hospital without a plan in place will be supported by our staff and volunteers so that they can cope at home, therefore freeing up a much-needed hospital bed.

It could be as simple as:

-       Walking Derek’s dog as he is too unwell to do so himself

-       Making tea for Bill and washing up once or twice a week

-       Picking up Sally and accompanying her to her GP appointments

Or you may be keen to take on a bit more and assist in other ways, such as:

·       Hospital visits and transport home from the hospital

·       Liaising with the Hospital Discharge service staff and assisting with assessment and care planning

·       Organising GP appointments and assisting individuals to access specialist support

Full training will be provided, and all mileage expenses are paid at 45p a mile.

If you can spare an hour or more a week, we can match you according to your qualities and interests with as few or as many hours a week as you would like to offer.

Our Volunteer team is drawn from a range of backgrounds, with an equally wide range of life experiences: from retired professionals, students wanting to gain experience, and those looking to give back and be part of something meaningful, to those whose children have grown up and flown the nest, creating time and space for something different. We welcome all applications, even if you feel you have no relevant experience.

If you are the right person with the right mindset, we provide full training and support, and any mileage expenses, if incurred, are paid at 45p a mile.

We would love to hear from you :)
