Detailed description
Hello, my name is Abigail, and I am the founder of Arts Table After-School Arts Clubs. What began two years ago as a small initiative in my own home for my daughter and a few of her friends has grown into a thriving community organisation and soon-to-be CIC.
Today, Arts Table proudly runs two community after-school art clubs and one primary school-based art club. Our mission is to keep our clubs affordable and accessible, ensuring every child has the opportunity to enjoy enriching creative experiences. Thanks to the generous support of our grant funders, children also take part in wider community opportunities such as the Lord Mayor’s Procession and community exhibitions and field trips
We are now excited to expand our offer with a Drama and Performance Club, and we are looking for a volunteer to support our performing arts facilitator.
Duties will include:
Taking direction from the session facilitator
Encouraging and supporting children’s creativity and confidence
Helping to prepare the room and tidy up afterwards
Greeting parents and carers
Supporting sessions in a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment.
We’re Looking for Someone Who Is:
Community-spirited and reliable
Interested in drama, theatre, and the arts
Comfortable working with children
Has some experience working with children (formal or informal)
What You’ll Gain:
Experience in community arts and drama facilitation
The opportunity to build skills and confidence
The chance to make a positive difference in children’s lives
Be part of a friendly, supportive team
About Arts Table Association
At Arts Table, we strive to create a welcoming space where children aged 4 to 11, accompanied by a parent, guardian, or appropriate adult, can explore the arts in a safe and supportive environment during term time. Our mission is to cultivate a love for artistic expression by offering engaging demonstrations, interactive workshops, and inspiring trips that broaden artistic appreciation and knowledge. We encourage children to experiment with a diverse range of styles and techniques while fostering a strong sense of community through shared creative experiences. Above all, we are committed to maintaining an inclusive, positive, and encouraging atmosphere where young artists feel empowered to express themselves freely.
We currently hold our art club at Mary Magdalen Church Hall on Silver Road, Norwich on Mondays 3.30pm-4.30pm. we hope to be starting up additional groups soon.
