Performing Arts Assistant for Weekly Children's Drama Club Age Group: 8-11 years old Location: St. Mary Magdalene's Church Hall
Hello, my name is Abigail, and I am the founder of Arts Table After-School Arts Clubs. What began two years ago as a small initiative in my own home for my daughter and a few of her friends has grown into a thriving community organisation and soon-to-be CIC.
Today, Arts Table proudly runs two community after-school art clubs and one primary school-based art club. Our mission is to keep our clubs affordable and accessible, ensuring every child has the opportunity to enjoy enriching creative experiences. Thanks to the generous support of our grant funders, children also take part in wider community opportunities such as the Lord Mayor’s Procession and community exhibitions and field trips
We are now excited to expand our offer with a Drama and Performance Club, and we are looking for a volunteer to support our performing arts facilitator.
Duties will include:
Taking direction from the session facilitator
Encouraging and supporting children’s creativity and confidence
Helping to prepare the room and tidy up afterwards
Greeting parents and carers
Supporting sessions in a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment.
We’re Looking for Someone Who Is:
Community-spirited and reliable
Interested in drama, theatre, and the arts
Comfortable working with children
Has some experience working with children (formal or informal)
What You’ll Gain:
Experience in community arts and drama facilitation
The opportunity to build skills and confidence
The chance to make a positive difference in children’s lives
Be part of a friendly, supportive team

About Arts Table Norwich CIC
Arts Table Norwich CIC is a community arts organisation that began three years ago around a kitchen table in a small terraced house in Norwich — a handful of children, some paint and paper, and a belief that every child deserves dedicated time and space to explore the arts. In response to shrinking arts provision in schools, that little art club kept growing: into local community venues, into two community art groups, a drama group, an in-school art club, an early years messy art club, a wellbeing-focused adult art group, community exhibitions and pop-up events across the NR3 area — even a place in the Lord Mayor's procession. This year we're proud to be celebrating officially becoming a Community Interest Company. Our mission has never changed: to create opportunities, celebrate creativity, and bring children, adults and families together through the arts — building community, one table at a time.
