Summary

Join BFER and volunteers to undertake practical activities to help conserve the Brecks habitat at Barnhamcross Common, Thetford.

Detailed description

Come and help out with the yearly ragwort control at Barnham Cross Common. You will be part of a group pulling ragwort from sections of the Brecks heathland in order to maintain its quality and habitat.

You will join a friendly group of volunteers from BFER and Thetford Conservation Group to help with this task. The task will take place at the beautiful Brecks heathland of Barnhamcross Common, situated on the edge of the town of Thetford.

Come prepared for the outdoors, wearing old clothes, and sturdy boots. As we all know, the British weather can be changeable, so please be prepared for wet, warm, or cold weather, with layers, waterproofs, and sun protection.

You’ll need to bring a packed lunch, and plenty of water, and we will provide tea and coffee and biscuits. We’ll also provide all the tools and safety equipment, however please bring gardening gloves if you have them.

Please note there are no set age limits but children under 16 years old must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

To join, please complete the registration form.

Getting there

The meeting point will be at the main car park on the west side of the common: What Three Words: ///swarm.camper.warping
