Help Recognise Carer-Friendly Organisations - Become a Carer Friendly Tick Award Assessor

Are you, or have you been, an unpaid carer? Would you like to use your lived experience to make a difference for other carers?

We’re looking for carers with lived experience to join our Carer Friendly Tick Award Assessor Panel. The Carer Friendly Tick Award is an accreditation that recognises organisations across Cambridgeshire and Norfolk supporting unpaid carers, with a focus on Health, Employers, and Community Settings.

As an assessor, you’ll review applications remotely and provide feedback based on your experience as a carer, helping to shine a spotlight on organisations that go above and beyond to support carers.

What you’ll do

You’ll help to ensure organisations are meeting the needs of unpaid carers by:

  • Reviewing applications against award criteria
  • Providing feedback in writing or verbally during a remote meeting
  • Joining panel meetings, held approximately once a fortnight (1.5 hours each, covering up to two applications)

All training and ongoing support will be provided.

What you’ll get:

  • The chance to make a real difference to carers’ lives
  • Opportunities to learn new skills and gain valuable experience
  • To be part of a supportive and friendly team

What you’ll need:

  • Lived experience of being an unpaid carer
  • Ability to give clear, constructive feedback
  • Confidence using email and Word
  • To be based in Cambridgeshire or Norfolk

This is a flexible, voluntary role and not paid employment.

Please note - this role is fully remote but you must be based in Cambridgeshire or Norfolk to be able to volunteer.
