Love trading card games? Volunteer with Cats Protection to run community events, build skills and raise funds for cats and kittens in need.

About the Role

Are you passionate about trading card games, community events, or fundraising? Cats Protection is looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help plan and deliver trading card events that bring people together while raising vital funds for cats and kittens in need.

Whether you're a player, collector, trader, or simply keen to gain experience in event planning, marketing, or community engagement, we'd love to hear from you.

What You'll Be Doing

We're looking for volunteers who can support us with the planning and delivery of our card trading events. You can choose to help with event planning and organisation, on-the-day event delivery, or both, depending on your interests, skills and availability.

Event Planning and Promotion

Help prepare for the event by:

    • Coordinating event logistics and administration.
    • Recruiting and liaising with vendors.
    • Building relationships with local card shops, gaming groups and hobby communities.
    • Promoting the event through social media, local networks and community groups.
    • Distributing promotional materials.
    • Supporting the development of activities, tournaments and fundraising opportunities.
    • Attending planning meetings and helping attract participants and volunteers.

Event Day Support

Help create a welcoming and enjoyable experience by:

    • Setting up and packing down the venue.
    • Registering attendees and checking tickets.
    • Welcoming visitors and providing information throughout the day.
    • Supporting vendors, players and collectors.
    • Selling raffle tickets and assisting with fundraising activities.
    • Helping activities run smoothly and ensuring everyone has a positive experience.

Trading Card Community Support

Volunteers with an interest in trading card games can also:

    • Support trading areas and event activities.
    • Engage with players, collectors and traders.
    • Share knowledge and enthusiasm for games such as:
    • Pokémon Trading Card Game
    • Magic: The Gathering
    • Yu-Gi-Oh!
    • Disney Lorcana
    • One Piece Card Game
    • Other collectible card games and trading communities

What We're Looking For

We welcome volunteers from all backgrounds. No previous charity experience is required, but you may be particularly suited to the role if you:

    • Have an interest in trading card games, collecting or gaming communities.
    • Enjoy event planning, marketing or community engagement.
    • Are friendly, reliable and enthusiastic.
    • Communicate well and enjoy meeting new people.
    • Work effectively as part of a team.
    • Are committed to creating an inclusive and welcoming environment.

What You'll Gain

As a volunteer, you'll benefit from:

    • Supporting a well-loved animal welfare charity.
    • Gaining experience in event planning, fundraising and community engagement.
    • Developing transferable skills such as organisation, communication and marketing.
    • Meeting like-minded people and trading card enthusiasts.
    • Making a real difference to the lives of cats and kittens in need.

Support and Training

You'll receive guidance and ongoing support from Cats Protection staff and volunteers, along with all the information you need to carry out your role confidently.

Why Volunteer With Cats Protection?

Every event helps raise awareness and funds that support Cats Protection's work in rescuing, rehoming and improving the lives of cats across the UK. By sharing your enthusiasm for trading cards and community events, you'll help create an enjoyable experience for attendees while supporting a fantastic cause.

Join us and turn your passion into a positive impact for cats. 🐾
