We are planning to hold workshops called ‘Paint for Cats’, across Norfolk and Suffolk.

Art Workshops

These workshops will offer people the chance to attend an art session led by a local artist while making friends with like-minded people.   Participants will be guided to create a painting of a cat on canvas, either their own or one of our cats waiting adoption.

All materials and refreshments will be provided.

We are aiming to run around two events in 2026 and three or four in 2027.  We currently have leads on venues In Norwich and Ipswich that could accommodate 25 people each.

The role of the Event Champion

At this stage, we are not expecting you to run (or even attend) these events - though you are very welcome to help out Community Fundraising Officer Anna, and other volunteers at the event, should you wish.

What we are looking for

  • Support with planning and organisation
  • Finding a locally based artist (Norwich/Ipswich) who is willing to run a workshop for free;
    • using Facebook/Instagram/online blogs/exhibitions/local craft groups/pet artists/workshops/craft market exhibitors OR you may have an artistic or creative friend
  • Approach artists (with Anna if needed)
  • Visit venues with Anna
  • Promote the workshops on social media and local media/radio
  • Work with Anna to organise and deliver the event

Looking ahead

If you enjoy the experience and are confident running events, we may invite you to host your own workshop in the future.
