Be the voice our listeners connect with most.
Chatterbox produces the weekly Talking Newspaper for blind and visually impaired listeners, plus Norfolk Magazine, Just Talk and Chataround.
We are looking to add to our complement of Reserve Readers in order to maintain a variety of voices for our listeners to enjoy on the audio recordings that we produce.
What you’ll do
- Bring weekly news stories to life with clear, natural reading
- Work in pairs, alternating male/female voices
- Prepare your stories before recording
- Record alongside our sound recordist, who guides the session
- Represent Chatterbox with warmth, professionalism and reliability
Why volunteer as a Reserve Reader?
- A flexible rewarding role where your voice makes a real difference
- Friendly team environment with full guidance and support
- Short commitment - one Thursday in four, around 1.5 hours
- Great for confidence and communication skills
- A valued part of a long‑standing local charity
If you enjoy reading aloud, communicating clearly and being part of a positive team, this is a brilliant role to get involved with.
