Role Purpose:
To support safer communities by volunteering time and energy to both Neighbourhood Watch and Crimestoppers. This role involves attending relevant meetings, representing the interests of both charities, and collaboratively setting and pursuing goals that promote public safety, crime prevention, and community engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Attend regular meetings (joint or separate) for both Neighbourhood Watch and Crimestoppers.
- Act as a bridge between the two organisations, sharing relevant updates, priorities, and opportunities for joint action.
- Help set and review local goals that align with both organisations’ missions—focusing on crime prevention, awareness, and public confidence.
- Promote local campaigns, events, and initiatives led by either organisation.
- Encourage community involvement and increase local visibility of both Neighbourhood Watch and Crimestoppers.
- Build connections with local authorities, policing teams, and community groups to strengthen community safety efforts.
- Maintain regular communication with designated coordinators from both organisations.
Skills & Qualities Needed:
- Passion for community safety and crime prevention.
- Good communicator and confident attending meetings and reporting back.
- Organised, reliable, and proactive.
- Able to balance and represent the interests of two respected organisations.
- Familiarity with local issues and willingness to learn.
- Commitment to confidentiality and ethical community practice.
Support & Training:
- Induction and role-specific training provided by both Neighbourhood Watch and Crimestoppers.
- Ongoing support from regional or local coordinators.
- Opportunities to attend events and access further training in community engagement and crime prevention.
