Our Volunteer Treasurer plays a vital role at the heart of our grassroots rugby club, helping to ensure we are financially secure, transparent and well run

Our Volunteer Treasurer plays a vital role at the heart of our grassroots rugby club, helping to ensure we are financially secure, transparent and well run. Working closely with the committee, the Treasurer oversees day-to-day finances, including managing bank accounts, tracking income and expenditure, paying invoices, and keeping clear, accurate records. They prepare simple monthly updates and an annual report, helping the club plan responsibly, invest in facilities and equipment, and keep subscriptions affordable for players and families.

This role is ideal for someone organised, dependable and comfortable with basic finance, not necessarily a qualified accountant. Support is available from the committee, and systems are straightforward. The contribution makes a real difference: strong financial stewardship allows the club to grow youth teams, support volunteers, and create a welcoming community for all. The Treasurer is a trusted volunteer, playing a key part in safeguarding the club’s future while staying connected to the spirit of grassroots rugby for generations to come together.

Getting there

About Crusaders Rugby Club

Based at Little Melton, just outside of Norwich, Crusaders has grown beyond all expectations since its humble beginnings in the 1960s when matches were played in Bowthorpe and the club house was the local pub.

Now it not only boasts a longstanding, successful senior’s section, it has a thriving youth and minis set up, plus a growing girl’s team and ladies sessions.

And it’s not just about learning rugby skills on the pitch - it’s as much about having fun, boosting confidence and making new friends.
We pride ourselves on our friendly, welcoming atmosphere and consider ourselves a real community club.
