Interior Displays Volunteer

The City of Norwich Aviation Museum is looking for volunteers to assist with the revamp of our interior displays. Many of our displays have not been updated in a number of years, and we would like to refresh them with different exhibit items and updated information boards. This will enhance the visitor experience and ensure Norfolk aviation history is passed down to the next generation. The topics include the history of:

• RAF Sculthorpe
• 458th Bomb Group USAAF (RAF Horsham St. Faith)
• Norfolk Aviation in First & Second World Wars
• RAF 100 Group

Work involved includes the fabrication of new wooden cabinets, writing and printing of new display boards, wiring cabinet lighting and painting.

Some background knowledge of these areas would be ideal. However, our volunteers come from a variety of backgrounds and skillsets - as long as you have the enthusiasm to help out, this would be the role for you.

All volunteers are required to submit a membership application form directly to the museum and pay a small charge of £15 per year to cover insurance and other costs. In return, volunteers are invited to take part in annual meetings, group visits and a range of discounts including a discount of 15% in our on site shop.
