The City of Norwich Aviation Museum is looking for volunteers to join the team restoring our Nimrod MR2 XV255.
The City of Norwich Aviation Museum is looking for volunteers to join the team restoring our Nimrod MR2 XV255.
Our Nimrod served as a maritime patrol aircraft from 1971 until her arrival at CNAM in May 2010. She remains partially 'live', with active electrical and hydraulic systems. As it is a large aircraft, she requires constant care from volunteers to keep her preserved for future generations.
As part of the team, you'll be led by our restoration lead or 'Crew Chief', performing a variety of mechanical tasks. For this, an engineering background is ideal. The museum will provide appropriate PPE such as gloves and safety glasses.
All volunteers are required to submit a membership application form directly to the museum and pay a small charge of £15 per year to cover insurance and other costs. In return, Volunteers are invited to take part in Annual meetings, group visits and a range of discounts including a discount of 15% in our on site shop.
