We are looking for a pro-active volunteer to create, develop and maintain a volunteer induction process for newcomers.

This unique opportunity allows a self-motivated individual to create, develop and maintain a successful system for new volunteers induction.

Core Responsibilities

  • Policy & Admin: Create and update induction processes for the organisation. This will include writing membership / safety rules, keeping records secure and tracking goals.

  • Recruitment & Onboarding: Finding new candidates, conducting informal interviews and matching people to the right tasks.

  • Training & Supervision: Teaching volunteers rules, safety protocols, and daily job duties, plus checking in to give feedback.

  • Scheduling & Daily Operations: Setting times, updating rosters and solving last-minute problems or gaps.

  • Retention & Appreciation: Rewarding great work, organising a yearly thank-you event and making sure everyone feels valued.

The role will work closely with the Board of Trustees, Office Staff and Aircraft Restoration Managers to ensure all areas and targets are met.

** Volunteers are required to submit a membership application form directly to the museum and pay a small charge of £15 per year to cover insurance and other costs. In return, Volunteers are invited to take part in Annual meetings, group visits and a range of discounts including a discount of 15% in our on site shop with free tea, coffee and water in the tea room! **
