Tech & Check Volunteer – Help Make Holidays Happen!
Join us as a Tech & Check Volunteer and help ensure everything is ready for our guests to arrive and relax.
About the Role
As a Tech & Check Volunteer, you’ll play a vital behind-the-scenes role in preparing our holiday home for guests. From checking equipment to making sure everything is safe, clean, and in place, you’ll help create a smooth and welcoming experience from the moment they arrive.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Setting up assistive technology ready for use
- Checking loaned equipment has been returned and is in good condition
- Completing tech and caravan inventory lists
- Ensuring leisure passes are visible and accessible
- Checking the exterior is clean and tidy
- Flagging any issues or missing items to the lead contact
When You’ll Volunteer
- Fridays, 2–4pm (weekly)
- March through to the end of October with the availability to commit throughout the season wherever possible
What We’re Looking For
This role would suit someone who is friendly, reliable, and practical, happy to work independently and follow checklists. You will be able to travel independently to our caravan site in Hopton on Sea.
What You’ll Need
- Access to the internet to complete initial training (2–3 hours)
- Ability to commit across the season wherever possible
What You’ll Get in Return
- Be part of a welcoming and supportive team
- Make a real difference helping people with sight and hearing loss enjoy a break
- Learn more about deafblindness
- Access to leisure passes (when not in use by guests)
- Opportunity for discounted stays in the holiday home (subject to availability)
Support & Training
We’ll make sure you feel confident in your role with full training, ongoing support, and a dedicated lead contact. You’ll also have access to the Deafblind UK Volunteer Hub and resources throughout your journey.
