Summary
Help marshal for Suffolk Trek 24, 18 April, Southwold to Sotterley. Various times available throughout the day. Be part of the team that ultimately saves lives
Detailed description
East Anglian Air Ambulance are delighted to be returning to Sotterley Estate, near Beccles, on 18th April 2026 for Trek 24. Together, we’ll raise thousands of pounds to keep our helicopters flying and save lives across East Anglia.
We are hoping to welcome even more supporters this year and are looking for volunteers to help us make our trekkers day the best it can be. You’ll be the friendly face that our trekkers see at the start, finish or at a rest stop. You’ll be handing out refreshments, helping at registration and in the event village, offering words of encouragement, giving directions, and cheering our trekkers on to the finish. You could also be handing out that all important medal at the finish and enjoying that sense of achievement. There is a role for everybody!
Suffolk Trek 24 will see supporters taking on the challenge of walking either 24 miles or 24 kms, with a route between Southwold and Sotterley, trekking through some incredible sites including wildlife-rich wetlands, ancient heaths, shingle beaches and historic towns and villages. As well as having a great day together we will be raising thousands of pounds for the charity and you can play your part.
We are looking to fit volunteers into the following shifts (you can chose one or all):
Morning shift 06:00 – 10:00
Day shift 10:00- 18:00
Afternoon shift – 13:00 - 20:00
We want you to have the best volunteer experience at Trek 24 and ensure you get the most out of it. We will:
- Be in contact in the lead up to the day so that you know what to expect
- Give you a full briefing on arrival
- Support on the day
- Provide meals and snacks as appropriate.
If you would like any further information or can commit to supporting the event, Sarah Nunn would love to hear from you.
This is a great event to come to with friends, or as employee volunteering (please note it is on a Saturday), or make friends on the day! We are a very happy and friendly bunch!
Further details on Trek 24 Suffolk can be found on our website.
