Summary

Do you love public speaking? Help EAAA by speaking to groups, motivating others to support or volunteer, and spreading awareness of our vital work.

Detailed description

Why we need you?

We are often asked to attend events and group meetings to present information to people who are interested in the work of East Anglian Air Ambulance. We need volunteers who enjoy speaking in public, are able to communicate clearly and who can inspire and motivate people to become supporters or even volunteers themselves. This work is invaluable in ‘spreading the word’ about what we do and how people can get involved.

What will I be doing?

  • Delivering prepared talks of around 30 minutes to a variety of different audiences. PowerPoint slides, an iPad with the presentation already downloaded, and a projector and screen are provided if you wish to use them.
  • Responding flexibly and creatively to different groups needs and expectations.
  • Informing people of all the ways they can get involved and support us.

When can I volunteer?

The requests for talks vary and can sometimes be in the evenings or at weekends, so flexibility is a real help.

We hope to see you volunteering with us at least once a month subject to suitable opportunities being available. Obviously, you’re very welcome to do more than that and we love to see you getting the most out of volunteering with EAAA!

What we are looking for?

  • Excellent interpersonal, motivational and communication skills.
  • Experience in public speaking and own transport would be beneficial.
  • A friendly, approachable and enthusiastic manner.
  • A flexible, independent and creative approach.
  • Willingness to learn more about our work and deliver our key messages.
  • A commitment to undertake training (shadowing other speakers)

What’s in it for you?

  • Join an inclusive and diverse organisation.
  • Have fun, meet new people and join a motivated and enthusiastic team who are making a difference.
  • Give back to your local community.
  • Reasonable, out-of-pocket expenses paid in line with EAAA’s Volunteer Expenses policy.
  • Ongoing support is provided.
