Volunteers provide practical support to clinic nurses at Kirkley Mill Health Centre, Lowestoft.

Volunteers provide practical and administrative support to the clinicians at the Leg Ulcer Clinic at Kirkley Mill Health Centre.

Tasks may vary, but are likely to include:

  • Greeting patients and collecting them from the waiting room.
  • Helping less mobile patients to remove coats and shoes.
  • Providing practical support to staff such as fetching stock.
  • Helping to clean the clinic room between patients.

This role offers volunteers the opportunity to gain experience in a healthcare setting, as well as to contribute to improving patients' experience.

Subject to availability, shifts are available Monday-Friday, either 8.30am -1pm/ 1.30pm-4.30pm. Weeks off for holidays and other commitments are fine.

If following the welcome call you want to progress your application we'll then carry out our recruitment checks and you'll be asked to sign up to a half day induction training session (this takes place in Lowestoft)

You'll be asked to provide the names of two non family members who can provide a character reference and we will carry out an Enhanced Level Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) with Barred List check. If you have previous convictions these will not necessarily prevent you from volunteering and we would still welcome your application. We assess any criminal record disclosures on a case by case basis and you will be supported through the application process by a volunteer coordinator.

This role is suitable for people aged 16 and over.
