Summary

A client living in the Caister area is in need of weekly support to build her confidence and mobility, after mostly being housebound for the last year.

Detailed description

We are looking for a volunteer to support a client who has been referred to us from East Coast Community Healthcare, as part of Voluntary Norfolk’s ECCH Volunteer Service. The client, who is living in the Caister NR30 area, would like to build her confidence and mobility, after mostly being housebound for the last year. The client can only walk short distances but has expressed interest in being able to do some activities such as go out to a coffee shop and would need someone with her whilst she builds her confidence.

We are looking for a volunteer who would be able to provide the following support to the client for a period of 2-3 months

•  Visiting the client in their own home, or local park/café, at a time agreed by the client and volunteer on a weekly basis

•  Spend time chatting with the client, taking time to encourage them to communicate and listening to them

•  Provide support as the client builds confidence, possibly going for a walk or visiting a local café or community group if appropriate

The client has said she would prefer a female volunteer if possible

If this is something you would be interested in please get in touch for further details. Please note that this volunteering role will require an enhanced DBS check, and both online and in-person training.
