Summary

Volunteers will take client carbon monoxide readings, record readings and send them through to the team at SmokeFree.

Detailed description

As part of Voluntary Norfolk’s work supporting East Coast Community Healthcare, we are looking for volunteers who are interested in supporting the SmokeFree stop smoking campaign

The volunteers’ role would be to man a weekly drop-in session at Gorleston library where clients of Smokefree can come to have carbon monoxide (CO) readings taken and recorded as part of a trial campaign to reduce smoking in pregnancy. Volunteers will take client CO readings using a monitor, record these and then send them through to the team at SmokeFree. Drop-ins will be 4 hour sessions and will be held on a weekday (time and day to be confirmed)

Volunteers will be trained how to take readings with a CO monitor via an in-person training session, as well as being briefed on where to signpost clients if they have questions.
