Summary

Volunteers will facilitate a range of informal social activities such as arts and crafts, games, or jigsaw puzzles on the in-patient ward at Beccles Hospital

Detailed description

Ward Activity Volunteers facilitate a range of informal social activities on the in-patient ward at Beccles Hospital, giving patients who are mobile the opportunity to engage in a social activity and enjoy a change of scene from their hospital bed. The role involves engaging with the patients on the ward and leading a friendly and informal activity for patients to join in with if they wish. Activities could include arts and crafts, games, or something like a jigsaw puzzle.

Tasks may vary from session to session depending on the needs of the team and the patients, but are likely to include;

  • Leading a friendly and relaxed activity for any patients who are mobile to join in with if they wish

  • Setting up the necessary materials for the activity (such as craft materials, games or puzzles) and tidying these away at the end of the session
