Our group takes disabled and disadvantaged children from Norwich and Norfolk on holiday to France.
The responsibilities of this role include:
- Attending training including safeguarding, personal care
- Helping organise and run fundraising events with the group
- Attend 2-3 home visits with other group members for the children who will be coming on the trip
- During the week you will need to help be responsible for the children, never working alone but using your training to help care for the children. You may need to be on night duty two times during the week. You will be facilitating the children having the holiday of a life time!
On our holiday we attend whole-trust events, take the children on coach trips to a village in the mountains, visits to the zoo and cafes, and more.

HCPT is a charity that helps give children the holiday of a life time!
We are the Norwich and Norfolk family group. Volunteering involves fundraising, training and small day trips, all leading up to a week away in France with our VIPs, the children who we support.
We have been running for over 20 years and also have the privilege of travelling with our East Anglia regional nurse, Pip. Group 111 mainly take children with intellectual disabilities and social and emotional needs, who are supported by volunteers from a range of backgrounds including teachers, nurses, people with a history of volunteering with children, but also those who are interested in gaining experience with voluntary work.
We are made up of children and volunteers of all ages, backgrounds, and beliefs. Everybody in our group, child or volunteer has an equal but different role to play to make our week come together. We all look out for each other and help each other to ensure we have the best week possible. During the trip we enjoy a trip to the zoo, visit a beautiful village in the mountains and trips to our favourite cafe. In the evenings we love to go to parties and have family style dinners. Our week is filled with singing and laughter.
