Volunteer Warehouse Supervisor
We're looking for a calm, organised volunteer to help supervise our warehouse team and keep things running smoothly at our Dereham foodbank.
When: Monday, Thursday & Friday — 9am to 12 noon
Where: Rashes Green, Dereham
- Supporting and overseeing fellow volunteers day to day
- Coordinating tasks and keeping the workload on track
- Helping to create a positive, productive environment in the warehouse

Volunteer Warehouse Supervisor - Job Description
PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
To support the smooth running of the warehouse by overseeing the volunteer team, managing daily tasks and ensuring food is sorted, stored and distributed efficiently.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee and support warehouse volunteers during sessions
- Allocate tasks and manage workload to ensure the warehouse runs effectively
- Ensure food is sorted, labelled and stored correctly in line with foodbank procedures
- Provide a warm and welcoming environment for all volunteers
- Liaise with foodbank staff and other team leaders as required
- Help induct new volunteers and answer questions
- Escalate any concerns or issues to foodbank management
SKILLS & QUALITIES
- Previous experience in a supervisory, team leader or management role (desirable but not essential)
- Organised, calm under pressure and able to prioritise effectively
- Good interpersonal skills — confident working with a diverse group of volunteers
- Reliable and committed
- Empathy with the aims of Mid Norfolk Foodbank
TIME COMMITMENT
Monday, Thursday & Friday, 9am–12 noon.
LOCATION
Rashes Green, Dereham.
