Join the Mid Norfolk Railway as a Trustee/ Director and help shape the future of heritage railways.
Are you passionate about preserving the past while shaping the future? Join Mid Norfolk Railway and play a vital role in protecting and promoting heritage railways for generations to come.
As a Trustee/Director, you won’t just sit at the table—you’ll help steer the journey. Working alongside a committed board, you’ll use your skills and judgement to:
• Champion the railway’s mission for public benefit
• Ensure strong governance and legal compliance
• Make decisions in the charity’s best interests
• Safeguard resources and support sustainable growth
• Hold leadership to account and ensure transparency
More than a role—it’s a platform.
You’ll act as an ambassador, building connections, raising awareness, and contributing to the national effort to protect and restore heritage railways.
Who We’re Looking For
Essential:

✔ Time and commitment beyond board meetings
✔ Strategic thinking and sound judgement
✔ Confidence to contribute ideas in a collaborative environment

About Mid Norfolk Railway
The Mid-Norfolk Railway is the longest standard gauge heritage railway in East Anglia and runs through the Heart of Norfolk from Dereham to Wymondham. The railway has its headquarters in Dereham and runs frequent trains south towards Wymondham across the year.
The Mid-Norfolk Railway is owned & ran by the registered charity, The Mid-Norfolk Railway Preservation Trust which is governed by the Trust Council. The Trust itself is owned by the Railway's members.
