Summary

We are looking to add some fresh faces to our board of trustees, ideally with previous or current experience, to bring new ideas and support to our charity!

Detailed description

Multiple Sclerosis Therapy Centre Norfolk

Would you consider becoming a Trustee?

Multiple Sclerosis Therapy Centre Norfolk (MSTCN) was founded in 2009 to provide practical support to all those in Norfolk living with MS and other neurological conditions. We have been in our current premises since 2017. We are an independent charity, providing support to those affected by MS and other neurological conditions.

As a registered charity, we have a Board of Trustees with oversight of the governance of the charity. The role of a trustee is to ensure that the charity is being managed in accordance with its key objectives, and to oversee the work of the centre manager, staff and volunteers in providing an effective service to those in Norfolk who rely on the Centre for their wellbeing.

Who are we looking for? We currently have three trustees and are looking to strengthen our Board with 2-3 more. We are particularly interested in those who have a background in any of the following:

·        The NHS or other medical environment

·        The charity sector, either as a manager, fundraiser or a volunteer

·        Finance

·        Human Resources

·        Project management

·        General management within a company or organisation.

Contacts within other local companies or organisations would be an advantage.

What would this involve?  As a Trustee, you would be expected to be part of a Board that has oversight of the running of the Centre and supports the Centre Manager and his team. You would be expected to attend regular Trustee meetings every two months, either at the Centre or online. There may be other meetings called as necessary.

You would also be expected to take an interest in the activities of the Centre and offer your time and commitment as appropriate.

The role is unpaid, although reasonable travelling and other out-of-pocket expenses would be paid.

Training would be provided, via a recognised charity training organisation.

If this role interests you, contact us.
