Are you passionate about supporting parents and building strong, welcoming communities? As a Community Volunteer for NCT, you'll be at the heart of our local efforts, helping to create vital spaces where parents can connect, share experiences, and access trusted information and support. You'll understand the unique needs of parents in your area and play a crucial role in improving their wellbeing.
This is a flexible role that can fit around your availability. You'll have the opportunity to support local parents by leading one of our easy-to-set-up regular events, such as a Bumps & Babies group or a Walk and Talk, or by helping to organise one of our popular NCT Nearly New Sales.
What you'll be doing:
- Planning and leading one of our local activities or services to support parents.
- Advertising your group or event via social media and other platforms.
- Attracting and welcoming helpers for your activity.
- Following NCT guidance to ensure all events are welcoming, inclusive, and safe.
- Collecting and sharing information about the positive difference you make to parents.
- Promoting NCT's values and vision in your local community.
Our Community Volunteers are:
- Passionate about supporting parents.
- Motivated and reliable.
- Able to plan and organise a one-off event or regular group.
- Welcoming to all parents and a good listener.
Time Commitment:
This is a flexible role that can fit around your other commitments and availability. The time you'll spend volunteering will vary depending on the type and frequency of the activity you choose to run, with as little as 2 hours per month being an option. We're ideally looking for Community Volunteers who can commit for at least 3 months.

Our mission is to support parents through the first 1,000 days to have the best possible experience of pregnancy, birth and early parenthood.
We achieve our mission though three interconnected aims:
- Sharing evidence-based knowledge to support parents to make informed decisions.
- Creating networks of vital support and life-long friendship.
- Campaigning on the issues that matter most to families throughout their early experiences of becoming a parent.
Every year, we support thousands of expectant and new parents across the UK and Channel Islands to feel more connected and confident during this major life transition.
We provide evidence-based information on our website, which is accessed over six million times a year. We support parents through antenatal and postnatal courses, attended by over 100,000 expectant and new parents. Our national network of volunteers support over half a million parents through free community-based activities and events. NCT breastfeeding counsellors support thousands of parents via our free infant feeding line and in homes, community drop-ins and services. We also provide a range of funded peer support programmes to support women and families facing specific challenges, such as social isolation or poor mental health.
