Summary

Volunteers in the NNUH Newborn Baby Check Clinic support staff in their dedicated clinic, held before parents and their newborn's are discharged from hospital.

Detailed description

The NNUH are looking for Volunteers to support the Trust in the Newborn Baby Check Clinic, and we are looking for volunteers who can assist in a busy environment and are resilient to the challenges of a hospital setting.

 

Newborn Baby Check Clinic

Volunteers in our Newborn Baby Check Clinic assist with the following to support our busy team of doctors and specialist nursing teams:


  • Notifying parents/carers that checks are imminent and asking them to undress the baby when required
  • Collecting notes for the doctor or nurse practitioner
  • Escorting parents/carers and baby to the clinic room, pushing wheeled cot if parents/carers are unable to do so themselves


Clinics are held in the mornings (9am-1pm) and we currently have the following vacancies:


  • Monday afternoon (x1)
  • Tuesday (x1)
  • Wednesday (x1)
  • Thursday (x1)
  • Friday (x1)

As an NNUH volunteer, you can expect to be provided with full training and ongoing support in order to aid you in delivering a much valued and crucial service.
