To be a volunteer for this service you’ll need to enjoy driving and meeting people. 

As a volunteer driver, you’ll play a vital role in providing safe, reliable, and friendly transport for passengers who may otherwise struggle get home.  You will also deliver medication and equipment, it's a rewarding role with lots of opportunities to help others.

Are you a confident driver with a desire to make a difference, help others and give back to society?

If yes, volunteering as a driver at the NNUH could be the ideal role for you.

Our volunteer drivers are essential to our service, helping patients, staff and those in need for extra help.

What  We’re Looking For:

We’re seeking compassionate, reliable individuals who are ready to make a difference. You’ll need:

  • A full, clean driving licence – D1 category essential
  • Good driving skills – Confident, calm, and safety-conscious
  • A friendly and patient attitude – Able to support people with a wide range of needs
  • Team spirit and flexibility – Willing to work closely with staff and adapt when necessary
  • Physical readiness – Comfortable with kneeling, bending, and pushing wheelchairs
  • DBS check required – All volunteers must undergo a Disclosure and Barring Service check
