Summary

Do you love storytelling and social media? Help us raise awareness of Norfolk’s incredible historic sites by bringing them to life online.

Detailed description

What are we looking for?

· Someone creative, motivated, and confident in using social media platforms.

· A good communicator with a flair for storytelling and engaging content.

· Experience with social media tools (personally or professionally).

· An interest in archaeology, history, or heritage is a big plus.

· Someone who is reliable and can manage their own time well.

· Photography, video, or design skills would be a welcome bonus.

This role is remote and flexible, but you’re welcome to visit our sites for content if you’re local. Our sites are often remote and not easily accessible by public transport, so the ability to drive and have access to a car is useful but not essential.

You’ll be helping us raise the profile of the Norfolk Archaeological Trust by creating and sharing content across platforms like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter/X, and TikTok. This might include behind-the-scenes peeks at our sites, event promotions, historical facts, volunteer stories, and more.

We want someone who can bring energy and creativity to the role – if you’ve got ideas, we’d love to hear them!

What’s in it for you?

· Hands-on experience in digital communications and marketing.

· Portfolio content and a reference for your CV.

· An opportunity to make a real difference for a small, local heritage charity.

· A chance to explore Norfolk’s history and contribute to its future.

· Join a friendly, passionate team – and yes, there’s usually cake somewhere along the way.

We’re looking to grow our audience, promote our work, and help more people discover Norfolk’s hidden history. If you’re creative, reliable, and ready to help us tell our story, get in touch – we’d love to hear from you!

About Norfolk Archaeological Trust

NAT is a local conservation charity which aims to protect Norfolk’s significant archaeological or historic sites at risk. We take monuments into our care, repair them, provide interpretation, and open them for everyone to enjoy.

We actively engage with local communities so that they can be involved in the future conservation of the sites that they treasure.
