We need someone who is happy to work with excel spreadsheets to be our treasurer. It is a quarterly/yearly commitment collating market accounts into county ones

Every quarter our 9 local markets send in their accounts . These need to be checked then pasted/entered on to existing spreadsheets. Some markets are weekly and some monthly and only for a few hours so the numbers involved are fairly small. Basic information about changes over quarter/year along with bank balances are used for the treasurer’s report which is presented at the quarterly officers meeting, usually on zoom. It is also presented at the open meeting which is either on zoom or in person but can be read out by someone else if you cannot physically be present.

Ability to do online banking is necessary. Bank balances need to be checked and a few payments made.

Year end accounts need to be completed and lodged with the FCA Mutuals register. At present we are registered dormant for Corporation Tax but in future a CT600 form may need to be submitted..

Norfolk Country Markets gives an opportunity to hundreds of people to sell their handmade/ home grown produce locally. Each market provides a convenient place for people to buy local produce and they have a wonderful, inviting and inclusive atmosphere.

if we cannot find a treasurer the markets will be forced to close. The communities they serve will lose a valuable social event. Some of our markets have very well attended cafes where groups of friends regularly meet and strangers are welcomed.

All our producers and existing volunteers are lovely and are greatly appreciated.  If you took on the role there would be a lot of very thankful people. Support would be given for you to ease into the role and be available afterwards as necessary, we are, after all, a cooperative.

If you’d like to know any further information I will happily provide spreadsheets for you to look at and chat to you about what I do as the current treasurer.  Thank you for reading this far 😊
