Swaffham Library are starting a new Autism Friendly art group on a Tuesday afternoon or Thursday morning. We're looking for friendly volunteers to help.

Swaffham Library are setting up a new arts group on either a Tuesday afternoon or a Thursday morning. INKlude will be aimed at those on the Autism spectrum, their friends and their family.


INKlude volunteers help autistic customers visiting the library to learn new art and drawing skills.


Volunteers help by:


  • Engaging with participants and help them choose a subject to draw
  • Encouraging participants to try new materials, media and skills
  • Giving participants confidence to keep drawing at home, or in between sessions
  • (Optional) To assist in the displaying of art produced at INKlude at exhibitions or displays


Volunteers should have an Interest in art and/or drawing, good communication skills and they must enjoy working with people of all ages, abilities and backgrounds.


INKlude will be aimed at those on the Autistic spectrum and their friends and family. Some knowledge of working with people on the autistic spectrum is desirable but some training will be provided through our Autism Friendly activities handbook.
