Trustee (Data Protection Lead)

North Norfolk Foodbank is a charity supporting those facing poverty and hunger. We help people with food, essential toiletries, energy, and provide advice and signposting for further support. 

We’re part of the Trussell network of foodbanks across the UK, but we’re an independent charity in our own right operating 7 distribution centres across the region with 4 paid staff and 84 volunteers

We are seeking dedicated and passionate individuals to join our board of Trustees, who bring diverse skills, experiences, and perspectives, and are committed to supporting our vision of alleviating food poverty and promoting social justice. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide strategic direction and oversight for the organisation

• Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements

• Support fundraising efforts and community engagement initiatives

• Collaborate with fellow trustees and staff to achieve organisational goals

Expectations:

• Experience in governance, finance, fundraising, or community engagement is preferred

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• A commitment to the values and mission of North Norfolk Foodbank

Data Protection Lead specific duties:

• Understanding of data protection laws and regulations

• Knowledge of IT security, data processing operations, and how to conduct data risk assessments

• Ability to liaise with staff to ensure the fulfilment of our data protection responsibilities as a charity
