Summary

Secure funding to support the delivery of the Trust's strategic goals and for specific projects.

Detailed description

The funding of the activity of the Trust is the lifeblood of the organisation.

The Trust has a variety of income streams (primarily membership fees, donations and events) and some limited reserves.

However, generally, any routine income is less than the fixed outgoings (eg rent, insurances,) so the Trust needs to seek additional external funding for its general operations. This includes conservation, maintenance and, in particular restoration projects.

This is why the Trust needs to obtain Grants to undertake work on the existing sections of the canal that have been restored and tol progress the work on the sections of the canal yet to be restored.

General external grants are sought for the equipment and materials needed to undertake work and on occasion for specialist sub-contractors.
