We are looking for Board Members who can demonstrate a range of skills and experience at a management level.

Norwich Credit Union (trading as Norfolk Save and Borrow outside Norwich) was established in 1989. Since then, we have loaned out more than £1.5 million to our members. We offer safe savings (FSCS protected) and a standard loan interest  rate of 19.6% APR.

 

We also offer a variety of savings and loans products to people in the community some of whom may struggle to get financial services from high street banks. 

 

Our Board is run by volunteers. We are looking for Board Members who can demonstrate a range of skills and experience at a management level. Candidates will be working as a member of a team towards the aims, objectives and future direction of the Credit Union and any new challenges it may face.

 

The Board meets once a month at The Stage St Austin St NR3 3AD at 7pm. Travel costs will be reimbursed.

 

Volunteers will learn new skills and gain experience in the running and management of a community Credit Union within the financial sector. They will be supporting a valuable and ethical organisation that not only benefits the community but enables members to save and borrow. NCU are particularly looking for people with some of the following skills -  Financial and budget management, IT skills, Fundraising/bid writing, governance, organisational development, strategic and performance management and planning. Knowledge or experience of a community organisation.


Volunteers must be able to demonstrate a keen interest in and a personal commitment to members interest in line with the values and mission of NCU. New Board members will be given training as required and can gain knowledge of various aspects of the organisation by work shadowing or experience days.

About Norwich Credit Union

We are owned and run by our members and offer access to safe savings and affordable loans (subject to a small annual administration fee). All members aged 18.
