Summary
We are looking for new people to join our team of volunteer admins to help coordinate the day to day running of the FoodHub.Detailed description
Role overview
We are looking for new people to join our team of volunteer admins to help coordinate the day to day running of the FoodHub.
This opportunity is suitable for people who can commit a minimum of 3 months volunteering and is a flexible role that our team members manage alongside their paid job, other voluntary work, childcare and studying.
We ask that our volunteers commit to volunteering around 15-30 minutes a day for at least 2 to 4 days a week (this can include weekends). Some tasks are best completed in the morning and some in the evening.
Main Tasks
Coordinators will help keep an eye out for messages via email and Facebook, respond to anything urgent and help to check we have our food collection slots covered. As long as you can keep an eye on the inboxes every so often, many days this will involve very, very little work - but it can take more time if there are urgent things to organise. You’ll be fully supported while learning the ropes.
- Checking the 10to8 website to assess slot coverage and posting reminders on our Fb volunteers page about slots that need to be covered that day (complete in the morning or early afternoon)
- Monitoring and responding to emails and messages via our main Facebook page or our private Facebook volunteers group
- Relaying information to FoodHub leaders and other volunteers via slack as appropriate
- Confirming food pickup emails and liaising with volunteers to facilitate additional surplus food collections (Neighbourly and Caboodle)
