Independent voluntary CIC director role bringing governance, finance or strategic experience to help NUC grow sustainably.
Norwich Underground Collective CIC is a community-led social enterprise using underground music and creativity to create belonging, opportunity and progression.
As NUC grows, we want to strengthen our board with independent voluntary Directors who can bring professional experience from outside our immediate grassroots music network.
We are particularly interested in people with experience in governance, finance, strategic development, commissioning, funding, social enterprise, public-sector leadership, audit, compliance or another regulated environment.
This is a genuine board-level role, not an events role or an honorary title. Directors will help provide oversight, constructive challenge and an independent perspective on areas such as strategy, finance, risk, funding, partnerships and organisational development.
You do not need a background in music. We are looking for thoughtful, approachable people who understand the balance between community impact and financial sustainability and who can help NUC grow without losing its grassroots identity.
The role is flexible, with remote involvement and occasional in-person meetings in Norwich where useful. Exact meeting frequency and time commitment will be agreed with the successful candidates.
Suitable applicants will first be invited to an informal conversation. Before any appointment is made, NUC will provide full information about the CIC, director duties, expected commitment, conflicts of interest, insurance and the formal appointment process.
