Help create a new accessible community garden at Carrow House through planting, landscaping, raised beds, wildlife habitats and teamwork to benefit local people
Norwich Unity Hub Community Garden Creation Day
Join us for a rewarding day of volunteering as we work together to create the Norwich Unity Hub Community Garden, a new outdoor space that will support community wellbeing, learning, food growing and biodiversity.
Volunteers will help transform the site through a variety of practical activities, including clearing weeds and vegetation, collecting litter, moving materials, constructing raised growing beds, filling beds with soil and compost, and planting vegetables, herbs and flowers. There will also be opportunities to create pathways, install garden features, develop pollinator-friendly planting areas, build insect habitats and support other environmental improvements.
No previous gardening or landscaping experience is required. Full guidance, supervision and all necessary hand tools will be provided. Tasks can be adapted to suit different abilities and interests, although some activities will involve moderate physical activity, including lifting, carrying and outdoor manual work.
Volunteers should wear suitable outdoor clothing and sturdy footwear that they do not mind getting dirty. Gloves and basic equipment will be provided.
This is a fantastic opportunity to make a lasting difference to a community asset, work alongside other volunteers, enjoy time outdoors and help create a welcoming green space that will benefit local people for years to come. 🌱🌻🐝
