Stockroom Support Volunteer Priscilla Bacon Lodge

We are looking for a reliable and practical Stockroom Support Volunteer to help maintain a well‑organised stockroom within our inpatient unit at the Priscilla Bacon Lodge.

This role supports the nursing team and housekeeper by ensuring essential nursing supplies are well stocked, stored correctly, and easy to access. By helping monitor stock levels and expiry dates, the role also contributes to reducing waste and unnecessary costs. Your contribution helps staff focus on delivering high‑quality care to patients.

The role involves some manual handling, including moving and opening boxes. Full training will be provided.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Auditing and checking stockroom supplies
• Moving, opening, and unpacking deliveries
• Putting away stock in the correct locations
• Keeping cupboards tidy and organised
• Flattening and disposing of cardboard boxes

Skills & Experience Needed

You do not need previous experience. We’re looking for someone who is:

• Friendly, reliable, and organised
• Comfortable working independently
• Physically able to carry out manual handling tasks
• A clear communicator with a good understanding of confidentiality
• Respectful and considerate towards patients, visitors, staff, and other volunteers

What Training Is Provided

All volunteers must complete:

• DBS check
• Two character references
• Mandatory induction and training, including:
• Manual handling
• Infection control
• Confidentiality and privacy
• Safeguarding adults
• Communication skills
• Data protection
