Help is required on wards across the QEH. Each ward has its own speciality, and aim to match volunteer availability and area of interest.
Summary of responsibilities of ward support role
- Support the staff in preparing refreshments for patients and families as required.
- Serve food from the meal trolley.
- Sit with a patient top provide comfort, reassurance and support.
- Keep kitchen area tidy.
- Support ward team by running errands such as taking samples to pathology or collecting prescriptions from pharmacy.
Other duties may be included to support specific ward / speciality needs.
