Opportunity description
Calling all engineers, designers, problem solvers and craftsman - REMAP are looking for people to design and make custom equipment for disabled people when nothing can be found commercially that suits their needs.
One of the most rewarding volunteer roles for people who love to use their creative skills. You will be working directly with our clients to understand the specific issue they are facing; you will design and make a bespoke piece of equipment for them; then experience first-hand the positive change it makes to their life.
We utilise many skills: woodwork, metal work, electronics, 3D printing, working with textiles, and so on.
You will be joining a small friendly team, who work together to achieve the best possible outcome for our clients.

What we will provide to volunteers
💸 Reimbursement of costs🤝 Extra supportAbout REMAP Norfolk
Each item we produce is tailor-made to the individual’s needs, aiming to empower them to accomplish tasks that would otherwise be difficult or even unattainable.
We provide this service only when nothing is available through mainstream sources and cannot be purchased. The equipment we make is offered free of charge.
The REMAP charity has been running for 60 years and has over 65 local branches across the UK. Our local branches regularly seek volunteers with ingenuity and a talent for making things, people to help with promotion and fundraising, people with project management and leadership skills, and those with practical knowledge of the health sector, such as occupational therapists and physiotherapists.
