The person will be part of a small Publicity team and work closely with the Publicity Organiser.
Good IT skills are required to access online documents, spreadsheets and emails. We are looking for those with a non-judgemental attitude and respect for others, including a commitment to equality and diversity and a willingness to abide by Read Easy’s policies and procedures. Good communication skills are vital as is maintaining confidentiality.
If you have just 4 - 8 hours a week and would like to help to make a real difference we’d love to hear from you.
Read Easy Norfolk help adults who struggle with literacy. In Norfolk, 71,000 adults have difficulty reading or cannot read at all. Read Easy Norfolk is affiliated to Read Easy UK which is the only national organisation that provides a volunteer-led one-to-one reading coaching programme for adults. Our Management Team, coaches and coordinators are all volunteers.
Adults who struggle to read develop coping strategies but are unlikely to reach their full potential. They may have difficulties reading with their children or grandchildren and struggle with everyday tasks like reading food labels in the supermarket, understanding bus timetables or booking holidays. Many of our readers, who have either graduated or been with us for several months, tell us that the difference Read Easy Norfolk has made to their lives has been profound and life changing. They are rightly proud of themselves, and their coaches tell us the change is their confidence levels is remarkable.
If you think this could be you and are curious to find out more, please apply and you will be contacted by Karen Harding, our Volunteer Recruiter.

About Read Easy Norfolk
Reading is a basic requirement of everyday life, and for many of us it is a skill we take for granted. Yet there are 2.4 million adults in England alone who can barely read or cannot read at all.
Learning to read as an adult can be life-changing. The benefits can extend beyond the individual and enable families to break the inter-generational cycle of literacy difficulties.
