Marshal

You’ll be based at one of our checkpoints to help encourage the runners.  All marshals will be given emergency contact information in case a runner requires help, and water in case it’s required.  Some checkpoints will also be supplied with snacks for the runners.  You can volunteer with a friend/family member,  or we’ll team you up with another volunteer; no one will be left on their own.  For the “feeding” checkpoints we’ll provide a table, and also a gazebo which you can erect if you feel you need to shelter from the sun and/or the rain.  The most important part of this role is to offer encouragement and support to the runners.

We’re looking for volunteers who can help between 08:00 and 18:00 (we need people to help with car parking, set up, and close down as well as around the course).  If you can help all day, that’d be fab, but we can also put you into a morning or afternoon “shift” if you’d prefer.  There are no shops nearby, so we’ll supply a sandwich, snacks, and fruit to anyone who can volunteer for five hours or more.

We'll email specific information about your role a week before the event, including a what3words link to help you find your location.  If you have up to date first aid training we can provide you with a basic first aid kit.  Please let us know (this is not essential for the role as we have first aiders on our team, but the more we have the better for our runners).
