Norfolk Marathon and Half Marathon Race Day Helper

Shelter Norfolk have 3 runners taking part in the Norfolk marathon and half this year, raising vital funds to help people impacted by the housing emergency. 

Our agreement with the race provider is to help on race day by providing 3-5 volunteers. Volunteers will be representing Shelter but managed on the day by the race team.

About The Event 

The Norfolk Marathon & Half Marathon is a community event, with profits from this event reinvested by EPIC Norfolk into local community sport and physical activity. It is also an important fundraiser for local charities, with nearly 100 charity runners taking part. 

Date & Timings 

The event takes place on Sunday, the 19th April. Volunteers are needed between 7:30-16:00 although volunteers are not expected to help the entire time, timings vary based on the role. We will take time constraints into account and assign roles accordingly 

Roles 

Volunteer roles include start-line volunteers, on-course marshals who help direct runners, and finish-line marshals. We will assign roles based on an individual's time constraints and preferences. 

Assigning Roles 

We will allocate volunteer roles in March and will correspond directly with volunteers. By mid-March, volunteers will receive a full email brief with details of their role, including timings, location, and role description. We will also host an online briefing nearer race day if any volunteers have questions ahead of the event - date tbc. 

Volunteers must sign up before the end of February.
