Join our founding Board of Directors to oversee financial strategy and help build a revolutionary new accessible platform!

About Spectrom Connect CIC

Spectrom Connect is a new Social Enterprise based in Great Yarmouth. We are dedicated to tackling social isolation, starting with the blind and visually impaired (VI) community, with a strategic vision to expand to the wider disability community. As a CIC, we are asset-locked and mission-led. Our mission is to build the world’s first "born accessible," audio-first ecosystem. While designed for accessibility, our focus on voice over visuals creates a unique space for anyone—disabled or not—who is tired of superficial "swipe culture" and seeks deeper, more authentic human connection. We operate with Integrity and Openness in everything we do, especially our finances. We believe in Fairness—ensuring that our resources are used to support those who need them most.

The Opportunity

We are appointing our founding Board of Directors and are seeking a Treasurer / Finance Lead. We are not looking for someone to do the day-to-day bookkeeping (we have external accountants for that). Instead, we need a strategic partner to oversee our financial sustainability. We value Continuous Learning, meaning we are looking for a Treasurer who is willing to grow with us, adapting to the challenges of a startup with curiosity and a desire to help.

Key Responsibilities

  • Grant Stewardship: Assist the CEO with financial planning for grant applications and oversee the reporting required by funders.
  • Financial Strategy: Review management accounts and cash flow forecasts to ensure the solvency and sustainability of the CIC.
  • Governance: Ensure the organisation complies with financial regulations and submits its annual CIC34 Community Interest Report.
  • Board Participation: Attend monthly/quarterly board meetings (held virtually or in Norfolk) to help steer the strategic direction of the enterprise.

Who We Are Looking For

  • Experience: A background in Accountancy, Financial Management, or Fundraising.
  • Skills: Experience with grant funding or bid writing is desirable.
  • Alignment: You are emotionally intelligent and understand that in a social enterprise, finance serves the mission, not the other way around.
  • Location: Must be a UK Resident.
