We nurture and preserve our green spaces, and regenerate our woodlands and streams ensuring they remain welcoming, well cared for and a source of pride for all.
Founded in August 2024, the group grew from a simple act of clearing an overgrown path into a thriving community initiative.
Volunteering with the Sunflowers is about bringing people together to make a positive difference with the ethos of ‘How can we support each other…?’

Why We’re Here & The Difference We Make
What We Do:
Maintaining and enhancing green spaces in St Faiths including:
- Gardening: weed, prune, plant, rake, bark, brush, blow, mow, strim, trim
- Managing our woodland and stream maintenance and regeneration
- Planting, watering and tending our village planters
- Litter picking to keep our public spaces tidy, welcoming and safe
- Cleaning and clearing our public paths, benches, bus shelters and signs for use by all
- Supporting the Seedlings Afterschool Club with supervised nature activities
- Organising Community events and managing local outdoor projects
Our goal is to grow our volunteer base each year, welcoming new faces, strengthening connections and inspiring more people to get involved and stay engaged.
At our core, we’re more than volunteers, we’re a community. We build friendships, share laughter and unite with purpose. Our ‘How Can We…?’ mindset keeps every volunteer day welcoming, fulfilling and fuelled by delicious home-cooked delights.
