Summary

Sue Ryder is here to make sure everyone approaching the end of life or living with grief can access the support they need.

Detailed description

Sue Ryder is here to make sure everyone approaching the end of life or living with grief can access the support they need. There is no one size fits all when it comes to how we cope and the help we need, but with our support, no one has to face dying or grief alone. We are there when it matters through our 7 hospices, Grief Kind spaces and online counselling and bereavement services.

You don’t need any experience to join us as a volunteer, you just need to be willing and helpful with a flexible and enthusiastic approach. Full training is provided and we can be flexible around your availability.

In return for your enthusiasm, you will have the opportunity to be part of a wonderful team, gain new skills and experience, and most importantly contribute towards making a difference to our service users and their families.

The Role – Charity Shop Electrical Support (PAT) Volunteer

You will help us to:

  • Receive donations from our supporters
  • Check the working condition of donated household electrical items
  • Ensure electrical items are fully PAT tested and fit for sale using our testing equipment (full training provided)
  • Dispose of failed items safely within our disposal protocols
  • Keep inhouse records clear for auditing purposes

We are happy to provide full in-house PAT training and support to ensure you are qualified for the role.

We are happy to reimburse reasonable travel expenses.

We are an inclusive charity and welcome all people with differing abilities and support needs.

Please note - we do have a minimum age requirement in our shops of 18.
