Are you looking for a meaningful and rewarding challenge? Could you put your knowledge and expertise to good use by positively impacting the lives of people with disabilities in Norfolk? An exciting opportunity has arisen for new trustees to join our board at The Hamlet Charity.

New trustees will join a lively, committed and supportive team of people who provide guidance and strategic direction to the Charity. • Build strategic experience that will strengthen your future career and professional profile.
  • Full induction and ongoing support provided, including mentoring and guidance from experienced board members.

  • Bring your ideas, skills, and experience to contribute to innovation and continuous improvement.

What You’ll Do:

  • Participate in a Trustee Away Day each November and one or two service visits or events annually.
  • Review CEO reports, monthly accounts, and other board documents in advance.
  • Contribute to financial planning and discuss general organisational work.
  • Apply your skills to ensure strong governance, operational efficiency, and strategic impact.

Time Commitment:

Moderate, with meetings roughly every other month plus occasional events and planning sessions.

Getting there

About The Hamlet Charity

From birth to 29 years and beyond, we provide recreational, educational and social opportunities for children and adults with profound disabilities and complex health needs. As a charity we support and enrich the lives of families, children and adults at our two locations in Norwich. Established in 1972 by inspirational couple Jack and Margaret Wymer, the charity has evolved from its beginnings as a Toy Library into a charity offering a range of services for children and adults from birth. Today we offer a wide range of high quality services to support over 500 families each year from across Norfolk. These services promote integration and inclusion by breaking down barriers that often exist for people with disabilities.
