Summary

An opportunity for enthusiastic people with skills in the areas of finance, HR or governance who would be willing offer their time as a Trustee of The Hamlet.

Detailed description

We are looking for people who would be willing to offer their time as a Trustee for The Hamlet, a local charity working with children and young adults with disabilities, and their families.  We are proud to be one of the leading voluntary sector organisations in Norfolk. We provide high quality specialised support to children and young adults with complex conditions, either in one of our three centres, at home and in the community. We are seeking to recruit new Trustees who would be able to add to to the skill set of our current Board of Trustees. We are particularly looking for people who could offer skills in financial management and planning, HR or governance. Applicants will need to be confident with the use of email, and with participating in on-line meetings as some of our meetings are virtual.  Most meetings are held in the evening, every two months. Please visit our website for more information about The Hamlet.

You would be joining a team of friendly and dedicated trustees to share the responsibility for the governance of a well-respected local charity, working with a highly skilled and professional senior management team and staff to provide the best possible service to children and young people who have a range of significant and complex needs.

About The Hamlet Charity

From birth to 29 years and beyond, we provide recreational, educational and social opportunities for children and adults with profound disabilities and complex health needs. As a charity we support and enrich the lives of families, children and adults at our two locations in Norwich. Established in 1972 by inspirational couple Jack and Margaret Wymer, the charity has evolved from its beginnings as a Toy Library into a charity offering a range of services for children and adults from birth. Today we offer a wide range of high quality services to support over 500 families each year from across Norfolk. These services promote integration and inclusion by breaking down barriers that often exist for people with disabilities.
