Summary

Christmas Party in a Box Volunteer (Remote)

Detailed description

Are you interested in having some festive fun and volunteering to support people with a learning disability this Christmas but don't have the capacity or locality to attend in person? Then we have the role for you! All you need is enthusiasm, a spare few hours and a bit of creative flair and you could be making a huge difference. Groups and individuals welcome to apply.

Please be aware that we are unable to reimburse cost for this role including postage. We do have a list of free items you can do which will make a real difference.

What you will be doing

  • You and your fellow volunteers will be paired with one of our houses where people with a learning disability live
  • You will have contact with those people (either via a video call, or via email) to find out what their perfect party looks like
  • You will pull together a party in a box - by getting creative and bringing together all the ingredients for a party into a box (we will provide you with ideas)
  • You will then post the box to the address of the service that we provide you with in time for the party to take place!
  • This role can be done remotely, and there is no expectation you will volunteer on-site

The skills you need

  • Friendly and approachable
  • Creative and able to use your own initiative
  • Passionate about improving the lives of people with a learning disability
  • Able to pack up and send a party in a box by a specific deadline
  • Willing to personalise each box to the people who will receive them
  • Able to purchase the items you want for your party in a box (or source through donations)

What's in it for you

  • The ability to make a real difference to people with a Learning Disability this Christmas
  • Make new friends and help bring joy to someone's life
  • Help create memories and a special moment for a group of people with a learning disability
