Do you want to work with young children? Looking for some work experience alongside your higher level studies?

We are a long established, busy, thriving playgroup renound for our friendly atmosphere running weekly sessions (term time) on an entirely voluntary basis. In 2024, we were awarded the Norfolk Parent & Toddler Group Quality Mark, We were Shortlisted for 'Community Organisation of the Year' in Broadland's Community Awards 2025 -and- Nominated for Norfolk County Council's Flourish Awards 2026.

We have a vacancy for an unpaid year long (approx) work placement, ideal for someone undertaking a degree or other higher level course wanting to get some experience working with young children.   You will work alongside other volunteers and duties are flexible and can be tailored around your interests, skills and specific desired career path.  Duties can include session planning and preparation/delivery of EYFS activities.  

There is also the option to lead structured activities with a small group of a specific age and to network with guest professionals working in the family and children sector if desired.  

Placement hours - 1 session per week:  Tuesday mornings (September to June/July, school term weeks) 8.30 or 8.45am to 11.15 or 11.30am approx. No experience necessary - full training and supervision will be given. Uniform provided. Minimum age 18 years. A written reference (for a future employment) or feedback report (for educational purposes) can be provided upon completion. Do get in touch if you have any questions.

Getting there

We are within easy walking distance of Lingwood Train Station (direct trains from Norwich) and opposite bus stop served by buses from Rail Station/City Centre/Cringleford/Newmarket Road. Free car parking at venue.
